Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) announced on March 22 two new areas of interest for consideration as protected or conservation areas: the Eastern Shore Islands off the Nova Scotia mainland, and the Fundian Channel / Browns Bank Areas on the Scotian shelf.
